I found a song on my playlist I don't remember putting there called "Messages From The Stars" and it was nice so I decided to listen to the album it's from.
"What'll Become Of The Children?" - Happy, but sad lyrics, but happy song, good opening.
"Star Dance" - YOOO! It sounds like a game OST! Brings to mind Omori, almost Everhood, or Undertale, but not quite. Omori though, yes. Very Omori. Or other's that I can't think of right now but yeh. Dancing among the stars for sure. The intruments with the whistle and everything, very nice. While all the intruments by themselves don't go together, they all make a piece of the overall feel, so they sound together, quite coolie. It even loops back around like a OST would.
"Perfumed Garden (Remix)" - The name reminds me of the scene of Spongebob and Patrick running through the perfumes in the Flying Dutchman. Anywhos, I like when the bass becomes the drum, really nice, I can't think of another song that does something like that. I'm sure I'm wrong but I don't need to be right. I just need to say what I wanna say, that this band is super epic.
"Rock Me Down To Rio" - RriiiiOoo, nehehe, discoo, wackoo, locooo, rriiiooo, haha, hehe, yeahhh. Truely a dance song if such a thing ever exists. Boogie down to rio, disco down to rio, dance down to rio, come on, rock on down to rio, yahow! hehe
"Are You Satisfied?" - The singer fits these songs really good. Saxaphone nice. I really like how much they do with little, drums, bass, keyboard, singer. That's it, at least from what I can tell.
"Clouds Across The Moon" - I like the feel of ze song.
"Messages From The Stars" - The opening is really good for the introduction to the bassline. Now, of course the baseline is transcendental but the drums also very good, not by themselves, but to improve the baseline. Bass - bombombomn, while the drums - ba ba ba, on time, emphasis on the bass. Also the hi-hat doing the same but skipping each other. I do think bass and drums get overlooked a lot in music. So I like pointing it out when I notice.
"Falcon" - Nice tune and they know how to mix it up to keep it interesting, very good.
"Sam The Samba Man" - Food- No- Good, typo (that I'm keeping). I like the seagull noise. I like the wawadalawawa halfway through the song. These songs always feel way longer than they are, cuz they good.
"The Crunch" - The start reminded me of "Prime Time Of Your Life" by Daft Punk. Silly goofy music.
Very good album. I don't have much to say other than you should listen to it cuz it's good. Too good to talk about, heh.
I LOVE SHADOW HEARTS MUSIC !!
"Hardcore To The Brain" is one of my favorites.
I wish I could play Shadow Hearts, cuz from what i've seen the gameplay is something I'd like too, but it's on PS, something, forgot which one.
I've heard "Welcome To My Nightmare" before once or twice though never really looked any more into it nor even Alice Cooper. Though, while making this site I got reminded of it, 'welcome to my dreams', nahh, 'Welcome to my nightmare'. That made me want to listen to it again. I really liked it, a lot more than I remember. So, after thinking about it a entire shift at work, I decided to listen to the album.
"Welcome To My Nightmare" - The title and opening song. Really good and does good to set the tone of the album. Also, he, Alice Cooper, played this on the muppet show, really. But I do think this is a great introduction to the album as it's Alice himself introducing him to the nightmare of a story he has for us in the album.
"Devil's Food" - Really good, I like it, until the monolouge. I don't mind 'random' voice lines in songs, but I hate uneven mixing, which is what they do with the music in the intro into the monolouge and the outro. I was also very disapointed to find that the music never comes back and half of the song is just a creepy old dude talking about spiders. Although, it does go great going directly into the next song so it makes sense. Just not my personal favorite.
"The Black Widow" - The song comes right after the last. I like this one, very good. Like the bass and drums. And Alice's silly voices of course, I love his voices.
"Some Folks" - I love the snapping and how the piano, kick, and bass work together. What the song is about, makes my skin crawl. I can't believe I'm only now finding Alice Cooper cuz I
"Only Women Bleed" - I really like the message of this one. It's about a woman being unhappy in a relationship. I think songs are underated in how powerful they can be. I've never felt anything from a poem but music? Love music.
"Department Of Youth"- Aka, The Little Rascals as a gang.
"Cold Ethyl" - Making out with a fridge~
"Years Ago" - Really creepy which I like. One comment I saw was along the lines of "More Doors than Doors" and, yes. Very. Although, I do disagree, I don't think it sounds like The Doors, it sounds like Cooper. A lot of people say The Doors sounds creepy, nah, this sounds creepy, The Doors are just weird or spooky sometimes. This has halloween vibes.
"Steven" - I like your funny words magic man. Really, I do like his voice. And his voice range. I always love silly voices. The song before it also goes together with this one. It might not sound like it, but the lyrics, they do. I like how the piano is very consistant though he uses different instruments to create different parts and recontextualize the piano, then later in the last part it evolves into a electric guitar, as all epikness does.
"The Awakening" - Very nice, very creep. Very real. Also the song before it goes together with this one.
"Escape" - Come on, let's escape. Yeah.
I like how the album is a story. "Devil's Food" is the start, with Steven meeting with his wife in a less than romantic and more of a lustful encounter. The second half of the song foreshadows the rest of the story. Then "Black Widow" shows how Steven has been and how he will continue to be. Then 'Some Folks' being about, well, lust and Steven, "justcan'tlive- can'tlive- justcan'tlivewithoutit-", so you know. Then the next song, 'Only women bleed' being about Steven's wife in this situation, how she's unhappy with it. The.. next two songs don't really fit.. Then "Years Ago" comes back with Steven in somekind of broken childlike state. Then "Steven" being his childlike state resulting in a, uh,
Anyways, i'll get out of here, no one wants me here anyway ;)
